Thank you. Your gift of time today will impact the lives of families with hospitalized children who spend day after day at their child’s bedside, offering comfort and trying to make a scary time a little less frightening. WeHero and our corporate and non-profit partners are trying to provide support in trying times. We are sourcing the necessary supplies to help these families and bring ease.
The Experience
Ronald McDonald House Charities® supports families of seriously ill children by creating a community of comfort and hope. They unite people and organizations to create well-rounded, responsive strategies for critical children’s health issues.Today, you’ll be putting together care packs for families who stay at RMHC. The packs are designed to provide support to families in trying times. You’ll add your own touch and message in each pack you produce by drawing fun pictures on the bags and adding letters of support. The most powerful aspects of these packs are the drawings on the bags and the letters you leave them. These notes inspire individuals by showing them that someone in their local community or across the globe is thinking of them and has given them a very special pack.

Step 1: Time to decorate the bag
Staying positive when your child is battling challenge can be hard. Let’s support those in times of need! Make the bags fun with the sharpies we’ve included for you. Pictures, quotes, your signature, etc., are all welcome to make each pack different and special. We can’t wait to see what you create!
Note: Sharpies and other markers will bleed through the drawstring bag, so when using them, please put a couple of sheets of paper inside the bag to avoid unwanted stains.
Step 2: Add all the items to each bag
The inventory below lists each item that goes into the bag. The sharpies are yours and don’t need to go into the bags.

Step 3: Letter writing
One of the most important touches to the packs. The individuals who receive these packs may feel overwhelmed, making it easy to give up hope. Inspire them. Use the WeHero notepaper to write them a short letter. Encourage them to keep their chin up. It’s very impactful to know that someone is thinking of you.

Step 4: Re-box and apply the shipping label
Using the original box everything came in, add the completed kits and reseal. Attach the prepaid shipping label and schedule your USPS pickup. You can also drop your box off at your local post office. To schedule your pickup, simply use the following link and follow the steps: www.wehero.co/pick-up/
Note: If the system asks for weight, you can enter 6 pounds and the shipping provider will update the weight automatically.
Step 5: Photo time
Take a photo of yourself with your completed packs and share the experience with your friends and family. Use the opportunity to spread awareness and share this act of kindness. Be sure to tag WeHero when you post on social media!

How We Offset Our Carbon Footprint
We have partnered with Cool Effect on The Mare Chicose landfill project in Mauritius to reduce methane emissions, generate electricity, create jobs, and promote sustainable development. Investing in the project helps reduce our carbon footprint and support global climate change mitigation.
