We are providing children facing hospital treatments with a colorful, comfortable fleece blanket and a letter of support.
Thank you. Your gift of time today will impact children undergoing hospital treatment. When you picture young children, you picture them as strong, energetic, happy, and healthy. You picture them running outside, falling and scraping their knees, then getting up and chasing after their friends. The last place you picture them is in a hospital bed.
Even so, a child’s hospital stay is something that parents have to deal with every year, and we want to make sure children feel safe, loved, and cared for during their stay. This is where your impact is felt today!
Together, we’ll provide children facing hospital treatments with a colorful, comfortable fleece blanket and a video message of support from its maker, but we need YOUR help to accomplish this! We provide the expertise, materials, and tools to make blankets.

We work to keep things as simple as possible. If you have any questions, please get in touch with your event coordinator or reach out to “Kai” (WeHero Super Dog) in the lower-right corner of this page.
Spread your blanket out on a clean, flat surface. The environment where you make your blanket must be pet- and smoke-free. A hospital-grade washing and drying unit will remove all dander, but remnant animal hair and smoke smell can damage your blanket permanently. Spread your blanket out on a clean, flat surface.
Lay both pieces of fabric together and match the corners. If one piece of fabric is slightly bigger than the other or has a wonky edge, please trim it to make both squares of fabric the same shape and size.
Cut an approximately 5x5 inch square out of each corner.
Picture an imaginary line between the cut corners of your blanket. Cut the strips from each edge to this line to create a fringe around the blanket. Each strip should be 2-3 fingers wide.
Tie the strips together in a double knot! Tie the print to the solid color/tie the top to the bottom!
Be as creative as you like in your letter. We want to include the basics of your name, where you’re from, and a short message of hope.
“I’m Helen from Ohio! You know, I hope this blanket makes you feel warm! I totally love the pattern and think you'll look just like a superhero with it on”

Have 32 seconds? We always want to make these experiences better and would love your feedback.

We build our volunteer events to be as environmentally friendly as possible. Whether it is offsetting the carbon emissions of the shipping process, using recycled cardboard for the boxes, or relying on algae based dyes, we’ve made conscious steps to ensure we’re doing right for our world.

Get in touch with us here or give us a call. Feel free to also chat with Kai and he’ll fetch a member of our team to help!
