Learn about the power of stories while making a Story Saver!

Thank you. Your gift of time today will impact the lives of children that are excited to have education in their lives, to chase dreams, and to work to make the world we share a better place. Children learn words and language skills from listening and engaging in stories. By making a Story Saver, you are promoting a child to read a book. This will develop literacy skills and help them to go on to read successfully later in life.

Fox Story Saver Instructions
1) Using the cut cards and the tracing paper provided, trace the shapes of the bookmark outlines on the tracing paper.
2) Choose a felt color that you would like for the first color outline. Place the tracing paper with the outlines on top of the felt paper, and cut out the outlines needed for Felt Color 1.
3) Choose the second felt color. Similar to the previous step, Place the tracing paper with the outlines on top of the felt paper, and cut out the outlines needed for Felt Color 2.
4) Repeat this process for Felt Color 3.
5) Once all the felt animal outlines are cut, arrange them in layers for a preview of the bookmark. Make any necessary trims or adjustments to ensure the cutouts achieve the desired shape.
6) After completing the cutouts, initiate the assembly by gluing the pieces together. Secure the ears between the two body outlines with glue for added stability. Affix the remaining face outlines onto the top of the body outline.
7) Affix the remaining face outlines onto the top of the body outline.
8) When gluing the body outlines together, apply glue to the left and right sides, leaving the bottom seam unglued. This unglued section will serve as a pocket for the book page, allowing the reader to easily slide it in and save their place.
9) Once everything is glued together, place the Story Saver between two books for 24 hours. The pressure can help it dry firmly overnight.

Step 2: Re-box and apply the shipping label
Using the original box everything came in, add the completed kits and reseal. Attach the prepaid shipping label and schedule your USPS pickup. You can also drop your box off at your local post office. To schedule your pickup, simply use the following link and follow the steps: www.wehero.co/pick-up/
Note: If the system asks for weight, you can enter 6 pounds and the shipping provider will update the weight automatically.
Step 3: Photo time!
Take a photo of yourself with your completed Story Saver and share the experience with your friends and family. Use the opportunity to spread awareness and share this act of kindness. Be sure to tag WeHero when you post on social media!
