Empowering children to be healthy one pack at a time!

Thank you so much for participating in Project Power. Diabetes globally affects around 537 million adults, and the projections for the future are concerning. By 2030, it is anticipated that the number of individuals living with diabetes will surge to 643 million, further escalating to 783 million by 2045. In the United States, over 11% of the population currently contends with this condition.
The American Diabetes Association's Project Power program is an initiative to slow the trajectory of childhood obesity. Sun Life and WeHero are partnering with the ADA to encourage healthy habits for youth in San Antonio, Texas.
Our Goal: To raise awareness on the impact of diabetes and support the youth in Texas!

Step 1: Decorate your bags
Starting a new habit can be challenging. Help the ADA support these children by building a power pack! You have been provided paint markers to decorate a small pine treasure box for the youth recipient to put items that are meaningful to them. We can’t wait to see what you create!
Feel free to get creative with the bags by adding decorations! Pictures and quotes can make each pack different and unique.
Step 2: Add all the items to each bag
Once your treasure box decorations have dried, you can put the box along with the inventory listed below into the canvas bag provided. The paint markers are yours to keep and do not need to go in the bag!

Step 3: Letter writing
An important touch to the packs. The children who will receive these packs may not have the support needed to stay active; without that, it’s easy to give up. Inspire them and write them a short letter. Encourage them to keep healthy. It’s very impactful to know that someone is thinking of you.

Step 4: Re-box and apply the shipping label
Using the original box everything came in, add the completed kits and reseal. Attach the prepaid shipping label and schedule your USPS pickup. You can also drop your box off at your local post office. To schedule your pickup, simply use the following link and follow the steps: www.wehero.co/pick-up/
Note: If the system asks for weight, you can enter 6 pounds and the shipping provider will update the weight automatically.
Step 5: Photo time!
Take a photo of yourself with your completed packs and share the experience with your friends and family. Use the opportunity to spread awareness and share this act of kindness. Be sure to tag WeHero when you post on social media!
