Learn about food insecurity in your community and put together food packs for kids with inspirational messages.

Thank you: First and foremost, thank you so much for participating in the Packs of Inspiration project. We are supporting HopeAustin by providing weekend meals to students who lose their subsidized meals offered during the school week to ensure the brightest future for children and the broader community by ensuring all youth have every opportunity to learn and thrive without hunger.

The Goal: To learn about the goals and impact of each of the nonprofits.
Just imagine...
It's Friday afternoon and your classmates are eagerly waiting for the bell to ring, unable to focus on the week's final lesson, so excited for the weekend ahead. You're having a hard time focusing too, but for a completely different reason. It's Friday afternoon, and you're not sure where your next meal may come from.
This challenge faced by many is where we are supporting today.

We work to keep things as simple as possible. If you have any questions, please get in touch with your event coordinator or reach out to “Kai” (WeHero Super Dog) in the lower-right corner of this page.
We’ve provided three markers to decorate the outside of your organic cotton drawstring bags. Leave words of encouragement, quotes, or draw a picture or design. We can’t wait to see what you create!
Note: The markers do bleed through the bag so please put something on the inside such as a magazine to eliminate any damage to the surface you are working on.
You will be making three kits for this event. The inventory list below states the quantity of each item that needs to go into the provided organic cotton drawstring bags. Please leave the markers out of the bag. They are yours to keep!

Use the provided notepaper to write a letter to your recipients. Children love reading words of encouragement, jokes, stories, and they are also curious about the stranger that is creating this act of kindness. Put one completed letter inside each drawstring bag.
Note: This letter is one of the most important parts of your gift. Please take the time to leave sincere thoughts.
Using the original box everything came in, add the completed kits and reseal. Attach the prepaid shipping label and schedule your USPS pickup. You can also drop your box off at your local post office. To schedule your pickup, simply use the following link and follow the steps: www.wehero.co/pick-up/
Note: If the system asks for weight, you can enter 6 pounds and the shipping provider will update the weight automatically.
Take a photo of yourself with your completed kits and share the experience with your friends and family. This is an opportunity to spread awareness and share the act of kindness. Be sure to tag WeHero when you post on social media!

We build our volunteer events to be as environmentally friendly as possible. Whether it is offsetting the carbon emissions of the shipping process, using recycled cardboard for the boxes, or relying on algae based dyes, we’ve made conscious steps to ensure we’re doing right for our world.

We have partnered with Cool Effect on The Mare Chicose landfill project in Mauritius to reduce methane emissions, generate electricity, create jobs, and promote sustainable development. Investing in the project helps reduce our carbon footprint and support global climate change mitigation.
