Thank you: A huge thank you for participating in the Packs of Inspiration project. Your involvement is incredibly appreciated and will significantly impact the lives of those in need.Food banks and nonprofits worldwide are working tirelessly to sustain and support individuals and families struggling to make ends meet. They are on the front lines, providing critical resources to those who need them most, and your support is helping to ensure their vital work continues. Your contribution makes a real difference in nourishing and caring for communities in need!
The Goal: To learn about the aims and impact of the nonprofits we're supporting and immerse ourselves in the situations the homeless and food insecure go through. We're also packing non-perishable food and hygiene items with notes of inspiration for those who truly need them.

Step 1: Decorate your bags
We’ve provided three markers to decorate the outside of your organic cotton drawstring bags. Leave words of encouragement or quotes, or draw a picture or design. We can’t wait to see what you create!
Note: The markers will bleed through the cotton bag, so when using them, please put a couple of sheets of paper inside the bag to avoid unwanted stains.
Step 2: Add all the items to each bag
You will be making three packs for this event—the inventory below lists the quantity of each item that goes into the organic cotton drawstring bags. Please leave the markers out of the bag. They're yours to keep!

Note: If you feel an item is missing, please leave a note inside the box for the staff. If you have any extra or alternative items, please keep them in the box for the return shipment.

Step 3: Letter writing
Use the stationary provided to write a letter to your recipients. People experiencing challenging times appreciate reading words of encouragement, jokes, and stories. They are also curious about the people performing these acts of kindness. Put one completed letter inside each drawstring bag.
The letter is the most important part of your gift. Please take the time to leave sincere thoughts.

Step 4: Re-box and apply the shipping label
Using the original box everything came in, add the completed kits and reseal. Attach the prepaid shipping label and schedule your USPS pickup. You can also drop your box off at your local post office. To schedule your pickup, simply use the following link and follow the steps: www.wehero.co/pick-up/
Note: If the system asks for weight, you can enter 6 pounds and the shipping provider will update the weight automatically.
Step 5: Photo time!
Take a photo of yourself with your completed packs and share the experience with your friends and family. Use the opportunity to spread awareness and share this act of kindness. Be sure to tag WeHero when you post on social media!

Recycling is hard so we made this resource list to make it easier!
We build our volunteer events to be as environmentally friendly as possible. Whether it is offsetting the carbon emissions of the shipping process, using recycled cardboard for the boxes, or relying on algae based dyes, we’ve made conscious steps to ensure we’re doing right for our world.
How we offset our carbon footprint
We have partnered with Cool Effect on The Mare Chicose landfill project in Mauritius to reduce methane emissions, generate electricity, create jobs, and promote sustainable development. Investing in the project helps reduce our carbon footprint and support global climate change mitigation.
