Build a bike while learning about the importance of independence and physical activity for youth in need.

Thank you. Your gift of time today will impact the lives of children in so many ways. A bike teaches children the power, freedom, and independence of learning something on their own and controlling their own movement. Unfortunately, bikes are expensive and frequently need replacing as kids grow. The cost of providing this essential item can be out of reach for many children. We work with a handful of local partners to ensure that bikes are delivered to the children in local communities who need them most.

The Experience
Build bikes as a team to support children in need. Volunteers work together to construct bikes that are safe and ready to donate! Learn about the power of bicycles, how they’re needed in your community, and give the gift of empowerment.

Step 1: Getting started
Remove the protective packaging from the bicycle. (Training wheels not included).
Important! Only discard packing materials once assembly is complete to ensure no required parts are accidentally discarded.

Step 3: Letter writing
One of the most important touches to the bike. The children who receive these bikes may be learning to ride for the first time! Cheer them on for their success! Encourage them not to give up and to enjoy the challenge. Inspire them. Use the WeHero stationary to write them a short letter. Encourage them to keep working to achieve their dreams. It’s very impactful to know that someone is thinking of you.
Step 4: Photo time
Take a photo of yourself with your completed packs and share the experience with your friends and family. Use the opportunity to spread awareness and share this act of kindness. Be sure to tag WeHero when you post on social media!
