Disaster Relief Corporate Volunteer Programs

In response to the devastating blast in Beirut, the widespread wildfires in California, and the destructive aftermath of Hurricane Isaias, WeHero has recognized the imminent need to support disaster relief efforts, worldwide. We have redesigned our Disaster Relief corporate volunteer programs to offer a remote option, perfectly suited for those looking to support international relief efforts. Working with our global relief partners, WeHero offers companies and employees remote opportunities to assist first responders in international crises and natural disasters.

The Event:

The WeHero Disaster Relief corporate volunteer program mobilizes event participants to assist in the response to crises in over 30 countries. No matter the location or conditions, WeHero delivers emergency health care, provides training, and offers health-related services to those affected by natural disasters, conflict, famine, and disease through these corporate volunteer programs. WeHero handles the entire event from sign-ups, a personalized event page, shipping, materials, and hosting of the live volunteer event. Each participant is responsible for putting together 3 first aid and hygiene kits. These kits include essential, but often overlooked, care items - bandages, trauma pads, and cue tips. Depending on the disaster in response, the kits also include more specifically necessitated supplies. Here's a sample agenda of the live WeHero Disaster Relief event:

  • 10:00 am - Participants join live via Zoom Web Meeting. WeHero will provide a keynote educating them on the cause being supported and diving into the impact being made as a result of this event.
  • 10:30 am -  Team activity begins. This is usually breakout rooms where groups will discuss a prompt given to them by the WeHero event lead.
  • 10:45 am - Next steps and directions on how to put the relief packs together and directions for sending them once completed.
  • 11:00 am - Thank you and Farewell!

Disaster relief efforts do more than restore lost assets, they allow individuals to maintain good health, spirits, and optimism while investing in communities’ long-term economic and democratic prosperity. In just one hour, event participants can drastically assist the wellbeing of individuals - all while remaining in their own homes.
